Wholesale bakery delivery in Brooklyn

Hudson Shipping Co is a Brooklyn cargo bike courier. We run early-morning wholesale drops for bakeries to cafés and restaurants, on a fixed schedule, so bread and pastry arrive before service starts.

Why bakeries use a recurring route

A bakery’s day starts early and its deadline is hard. Cafés and restaurants want product on the counter before they open, and a late drop costs them a morning of sales. A recurring route gives you the same pickup time and the same drop-off order every day you bake, without booking each run.

We agree the schedule with you once. That includes early-morning windows. After that, the route runs on its own and you only message us when something changes.

What we carry

Most bakery loads are trays, boxes and bagged goods, which suit the enclosed Venture. It has a 13 ft³ box (34 × 21 × 34 in) and carries standard packages up to 400 lb per trip, so wholesale orders stay dry and out of sight.

Larger loads, such as stacked crates or flour deliveries into your kitchen, can go on the open Flatbed, which has a 16 ft² deck. Tell us what you move and we match the bike. See the fleet page.

Keeping product fresh

We can provide insulated totes that keep goods at the same temperature for the duration of the trip. We do not have climate control on the bikes, so if a product is sensitive to heat or cold, mention it when you book.

How a bakery route runs

  1. You send us the pickup time, the list of drop-offs and what goes where.
  2. We agree the days and the early-morning window.
  3. Our routing technology orders the stops for bike lanes and stop density.
  4. The rider collects at your door, delivers in order, and you get a live tracking link and proof of delivery for each stop.

Your wholesale customers can use the tracking link too, so they know when to expect the drop.

Schedules

Routes can run daily or on the days you bake. We are based in Gowanus, so South Brooklyn is our fastest area, and we deliver across all of NYC.
