Recurring routes
Recurring delivery routes for Brooklyn businesses
Hudson Shipping Co is a Brooklyn cargo bike courier. We run recurring wholesale routes on fixed schedules, including early-morning windows, so your regular drops show up on time without a new booking each week.
Who recurring routes are for
If you send the same kind of delivery more than once a week, a recurring route is cheaper and calmer than booking each job. Typical customers are bakeries, coffee roasters, breweries, flower wholesalers, CSAs, makers, contractors and 3PLs with wholesale drops in Brooklyn.
How a recurring route works
- You send us the stops. Pickup location, drop-off addresses and what you ship.
- We agree a schedule. Fixed days and windows, including early morning.
- We plan the route. Our routing platform, freight.nyc, orders the stops for bike lanes and stop density.
- We run it. Each delivery has a live tracking link and proof of delivery.
Because the route repeats, we learn your stops and loading. You can change the stops or the schedule when your orders change. Tell us and we will update the route.
What we need to start
- Your pickup address and the time goods are ready.
- The list of drop-off addresses and any access notes.
- What you ship, and roughly how much per stop.
- The days and delivery windows you need.
Early-morning windows
Many producers need deliveries before the shop opens. We agree early-morning windows as part of the schedule. A bike does not wait for a parking space at the drop-off, which helps early drops stay on time. Our on-time rate is 99.8%.
Getting a quote
We quote each route from the stops, the load size and the schedule. Send us the details through the contact form and we reply within 24 hours.
Flatbed routes
For heavy or awkward freight, you can book a whole Flatbed. It has a 16 ft² open deck with side rails and takes kegs, lumber, flower crates and palletized goods. See the Flatbed specs.
What you get on every route
- A live tracking link for each delivery that you can share with your customers.
- Proof of delivery once each drop is complete.
- Insulated totes for goods that need to keep their temperature.
- Service in rain and snow.
- A New York State license to deliver alcohol, for breweries and bottle shops.
How to start
Fill in the contact form with your pickup address, your stops and the days and times you need. We reply within 24 hours with a plan and a quote. Prefer to talk? Call +1 (917) 409-6033.
Changing a route
Orders change, so routes can too. Add or remove a stop, move a delivery window or pause a week by telling us ahead of time through the contact form or by phone.
Why not a van
On a repeat route, a van loses time to parking at every stop. A cargo bike stops at the door. That is how we keep schedules tight in dense areas of Brooklyn.
